Jets at Miami

Tonight’s game will present an AFC East rivalry between the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins. The Jets are trying to bounce back from its first loss last Sunday to the Saints, after starting the season 3-0. Miami however got its first win last Sunday against Buffalo, after starting the season 0-3. Both teams have something to prove tonight.

Miami will have its hands full with Sanchez and the Jets offense, who traded wide receiver Chansi Stuckey, linebacker Jason Trusnik and two undisclosed draft picks to Cleveland last Wednesday for Braylon Edwards. On the other hand, the Jets will have trouble stopping the wildcat, which many teams have had trouble doing.

The season opener in 2008 between the Jets-Miami did not go Miami’s way, the Jets won 20-14 and held Miami to a season low 49 rushing yards. This rivalry dates back to when Rex Ryan was the defensive coordinator for the Ravens and it will continue tonight.

From the looks of things Miami has a bad taste in their mouth and this game will be personal. Miami maybe without Joey Porter, who has a sore right hamstring but that’s no excuse for the defense not to play fast and smart.

Tune in to ESPN tonight at 8:30pm, as Land Shark Stadium will be on center stage for a Monday Night Showdown. No more trash talking, it will be put up or shut up time. “Dolphins make some believers out of non believers.”
