I was reading an article on CNN.com about Lebron and a few of his teammates that are battling Influenza A. James said he may have gotten the flu from the shot he and his teammates recently receive to fight the virus and I came across an NFL players poll title “The Most Underrated Players.” In the poll of 246 NFL players conducted by Sports Illustrated where players couldn’t vote for teammates and the poll was complete before week 2. Before I click on the link, the first person that came to mind was Wes Welker. Low and behold great minds do think alike, he was the number one underrated player with 6.9 percent of the votes. The poll: 1. Wes Welker-WR, Patriots 6.9%
2. Drew Brees-QB, Saints 5.3%
3. Darren Sproles-RB, Chargers 2.8%
4. Leon Washington-RB, Jets 2.8%
5. Andre Johnson-WR, Texans 2.8%
6. Steve Slaton-RB, Texans 2.4%
7. Maurice Jones-Drew-RB, Jaguars 2%
8. Brian Westbrook-RB, Eagles 2%
9. Philip Rivers-QB, Chargers 1.6%
10. Steve Smith-WR, Panthers 1.6%
11. Anquan Boldin-WR, Cardinals 1.6%
12. Reggie Wayne-WR, Colts 1.6%
As I look at the poll I wondered how did they come up with some of these players, what type of questions did they ask or did they question them by position? Also when you look at the poll these players are all offense and skilled position players. Last time I checked, the NFL consisted of more than offense and there are many more players that are underrated. To make it more clearer click here Underrated
