Will Concussions Become A Problem In The NHL

Everyone knows that NHL is a sport with plenty of hits, but until recently concussions was a subject that was not talked about. That was until superstar Sidney Crosby suffered one and people started looking at the problem a lot closer. Will concussions become a problem in the NHL? The answer to that question is definitely, unless the governing body steps in to do something about it. Players in the NHL hit each other hard and the protection that they have is just not enough anymore.

NHL players these days are faster stronger, and more powerful than ever before. Blows to the head are on the rise and that means the chances for concussions will be as well. The NHL must take a proactive stand if they do not want this to become a problem like it has in other sports. The NFL has found out what impact concussions can have down the road for a player after football. This is a road that the NHL does not want to go down that’s for sure. The only way to make sure it does not happen is take a tough stance on shots to the head, and do not let players play with concussion symptoms.
